Benoît Lachambre received the ‘Best choreography’ award from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for his work Prisms. Created in 2013 for Montréal Danse and currently presented by Danse Danse, at the Place des Arts, the work reflects the choreographer’s will to include diversity in his work and to extend his research.
“It is truly a joy and an honour to receive this award from the CALQ for the season’s best choreography, following the presentation last fall of Prisms at l’Agora de la danse. After being honoured last year with the Grand prix de la danse de Montréal, this confirms to what point my repertoire is appreciated, as is the diversity of my work.” — Benoît Lachambre
Of course, Benoît Lachambre gives heartfelt thanks to the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and Danse Danse. He congratulates the wonderful team at Montréal Danse, and especially its artistic director, Kathy Casey. He also wants to congratulate Meg Stuart and Carol Prieur who received respectively Le Grand prix de la danse de Montréal 2014 and le prix d’interprète du RQD.
